Getting Started

VeloCoach AI is available on the App Store for iPhone. Search for "VeloCoach AI" or tap the download button on this page. Requires iOS 16 or later.

You need an iPhone running iOS 16 or later and an Apple ID. VeloCoach AI works best when connected to Apple Health, which allows it to read your workout data automatically. You can also connect Strava or Intervals.icu for richer analytics.

On first launch, VeloCoach AI will ask for permission to read your Apple Health data — tap Allow on the permissions prompt. If you need to adjust permissions later, go to iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → VeloCoach AI.

After completing a ride, VeloCoach AI reads the data from Apple Health within a few minutes. Open the app and tap the ride to see your AI coaching analysis — effort rating, key observations, and recommendations for your next session.

VeloCoach AI reads heart rate, power, speed, cadence, GPS route, elevation, and workout duration from Apple Health. It uses this data to analyse effort, track fitness trends, and personalise your coaching over time.

Integrations

In the app, go to Profile → Integrations → Strava, then tap Connect. You'll be taken to Strava to authorise the connection. Once connected, your Strava activities sync automatically and appear in VeloCoach AI.

Go to Profile → Integrations → Intervals.icu. Enter your Intervals.icu API key — you'll find this in your Intervals.icu profile under Account → API. VeloCoach AI will then read your training load, fitness metrics, and planned workouts.

Yes — VeloCoach AI reads data from Wahoo devices via Apple Health. When you record a ride on a Wahoo ELEMNT computer, it syncs to the Health app on your iPhone, and VeloCoach AI picks it up automatically from there.

Go to Profile → Integrations and check the status. If it shows as disconnected, tap Reconnect. For Strava, you may need to re-authorise if you recently changed your Strava password. If the issue persists, email us at hello@velocoach-ai.com.

Training & Coaching

After each ride, VeloCoach AI analyses your effort data — power, heart rate, duration, and recent training load — and generates a personalised coaching note. This isn't a generic summary: it accounts for your individual history and how the session fits into your broader training picture.

Your plan is built from your ride history, current fitness level, and the goals you set in the app. VeloCoach AI adjusts week-to-week based on how you've actually been training, not just what was scheduled.

Yes. Go to Profile → Training Preferences to adjust your weekly volume target and intensity preference. VeloCoach AI will adapt your plan from the next coaching cycle onwards.

VeloCoach AI monitors your training load using ATL/CTL metrics (from Intervals.icu if connected, or derived from Apple Health data) and automatically suggests reduced-load weeks when it detects accumulated fatigue. You'll see this reflected in your coaching notes and weekly summary.

Troubleshooting

First, check that VeloCoach AI has permission to read from Apple Health: go to iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → VeloCoach AI and confirm all categories are enabled. If permissions look correct, close and reopen the app. New rides typically appear within a few minutes of completing a workout.

Check that notifications are enabled: iPhone Settings → Notifications → VeloCoach AI. Also make sure Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them at the times you'd expect to receive them. Coaching notifications are sent after each ride is processed, which usually takes 2–5 minutes.

Close the app fully (swipe up from the app switcher) and reopen it. If the crash happens consistently, try reinstalling — your data is stored in the cloud and will sync back automatically. If it continues, please email hello@velocoach-ai.com with a description of what you were doing when it crashed.

VeloCoach AI reads data exactly as it's stored in Apple Health. If values look off, check your Garmin, Wahoo, or sensor app to confirm the raw data is correct at source. Dropped power or HR readings during a ride are typically a device pairing issue rather than a VeloCoach issue.

Billing & Account

Yes. VeloCoach AI offers a 7-day free trial when you first subscribe. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel at any time before then with no cost.

Current pricing is shown in the App Store and on the pricing page of this website. Annual plans offer a significant saving over monthly.

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel, go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → VeloCoach AI, then tap Cancel Subscription. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Sign in with the same Apple ID you used when you originally subscribed. Open VeloCoach AI, go to Profile → Restore Purchases, and your subscription will be restored automatically.
